Yeah, ads are annoying, sort of like someone taking a feather and tickling the back of your neck every few minutes. As for the inconsistencies, haven't really noticed and don't really care. If enough people make noise, someone may get a bug up their xxx and do something about it. The main game I play is on Windows, so windows it is. I get enough programming at work that I don't really want to do it at home anymore (and I'm on Linux / UNIX at work). A lot of what we are seeing is most likely due to Microsoft's eventual transition to Windows as a subscription. I suspect that's inevitable. As long as I can play my games and read my gmail ... meh.
