The composition feels a lot closer to the "ratom" concept from the Clojurescript ecosystem (https://github.com/day8/re-frame/blob/master/docs/flow-mechanics.md#how-flow-happens-in-reagent https://github.com/day8/re-frame/blob/master/docs/flow-mecha...) than it does hooks. I don't hate it at all.
