This part's interesting:
> In fact, there are millions of people energetically trying to create an internet that looks that way. The fediverse is a collection of free/open software projects designed to replace centralized servers like Facebook with decentralized alternatives that work in much the same way, but delegate control to the communities they serve. Groups of friends, co-ops, startups, nonprofits and others can host their own Mastodon or Diaspora instances and connect to as many of the other servers as will connect with them, based on their preferences and needs.

> The fediverse is amazing, but it’s not growing the way many of us hoped.
We'd see more growth if groups like the EFF were to support the underlying protocols on their own website. [They support RSS which is great, but can we see EFF commit to supporting the ActivityPub ecosystem?](https://imgur.com/a/kpP75B0 https://imgur.com/a/kpP75B0)
