    <html id="root"> #root#root#root div.legaltext { font-size: 12pt; } That gives you a specificity that should override everything else. Would only be a problem if some other rule has 3 or more IDs, in which case you can add more here.

      css truly is a beautiful language I'm thankful that I only ever do it in contexts where I control all the CSS and don't have to do silly stuff like that

    Then it’s no longer CSS and you have to edit the HTML code to apply the important styles.

  I think in this scenario it is supposed to match all div.legal elements. The styles are then applied with the highest priority, thus overriding other rules.
