If I'm being charitable, it's hard to see Vitalik as anything other than naive/"useful idiot" to the commoditize-everything hypercapitalist forces. It doesn't take a genius to show some restraint in opening one pandora's box after another. Some of the Bitcoin devs realized this early on. Ethereum, for whatever reason, didn't and it's been scamville ever since.
