Not smart but clever? The return of 'dumbphones'
- tjstebbing 5y agoI've been looking at the Punkt M02 with starry eyes for months now, trying to calculate a path that could make it a reality. Here are my current roadblocks: 2FA (Authy etc) .. Can I find a CLI replacement I can run on my laptop? Cameras .. portable, compact cameras have not kept up with apple/google from a feature POV, and even the smallest are the size again of carrying a dumbphone.
- karmakaze 5y agoI've kind-of got into the habit of using my hand-computer mostly as a dumb phone. It came about with my inability to focus at close distances and I don't bother with reading glasses when out. I really only use it for 2FA, calls, txt, voicemail, clock/alarm, and the occasional Google Maps lookup and Parking meter app payments. I also used to use it for Spotify when I had an office to commute to. Also handy for tethered internet access for my Surface Go or MacBook.
