I keep hoping Apple will put out a new iPod touch. My kids use mine a lot, and I've thought about getting a another one, but it doesn't seem worth it to pay full price for a 5-year-old device.
Instead I just replaced the battery in mine. (Which was a huge PITA, but ultimately worth it.)
- musicale 5y agoI miss the iPod touch - it's a nice iOS app/gaming handheld that also does most of the things that an iPhone does except for cellular calls and data. I guess you can get something similar by pulling the SIM card out of an iPhone, but I like the idea of a cheaper device that doesn't bother with cellular for people who don't need or want it.
- ThePowerOfFuet 5y agoThe one thing that a SIM-less iPhone has that an iPod touch doesn't is GPS, which makes it useful for navigation with apps that feature fully-downloaded maps such as Organic Maps and OsmAnd.
- musicale 5y agoHmm, I wonder if it's possible to add GPS to the iPod touch separately or if it's integrated into the cellular chipset.
