I think we've been in the "Golden Age of Politics," like in the 1880s, and we're seeing that break open into a new age.
We might very well see a stronger Russia come out of this if it leads to reforms of corruption, military investment, and the benefits of real on them jobs training for it's soldiers.
It's not like anyone's going to harshly correct these mistakes... Unless the sanctions prove lethal.
