- gruez 5y agoIt depends on what you're looking for. For instance, if you want to know what inflation is like is for financial modeling purposes, I certainly wouldn't trust surveys to provide that figure. However, if you're political operative trying to figure out whether "inflation" is going to be an election issue or not, I'd definitely use polls. If true inflation is 3% but everyone thinks it's 20% or whatever, then dismissing it as an issue would be a massive political blunder.
