I recently canceled my Kindle Unlimited subscription as well, and experienced no issues other than the "dark patterns" already outlined in other posts here. I know it's a massive coincidence that that happened to you, but I really do think it was just a coincidence. If it happened too often, people would be screaming about it on social media in no time.
