I suspect Amazon uses a lot of dark patterns. Multiple times I've discovered that I'm subscribed to some Amazon digital subscription that I had no idea about. I do read my credit card statements every month, but there are enough Amazon purchases on there that I don't notice a small monthly subscription charge. When I've tried to cancel them, it takes me through a confusing series of dialogs that I have to read very carefully to make sure I'm doing the correct thing.
