Or just add the address. I have a mailto link (no obfuscation or anything) on my page (that nobody visits anyway, but I believe Google has it). I think I have never received a single mail to this alias, spam or otherwise. (YMMV of course.)
- franga2000 5y agoAt the very least, I really suggest you use an email alias that you can filter or burn by if necessary. If you ever post a link to your site to something like HN or Reddit, you absolutely will get tons of spam and once you're on a list somewhere, you'll never ever get off of it. And no, Google's tag+name@gmail.com system isn't good enough - any spammer worth their salt will strip those.
- sandreas 5y agoAbsolutely... usually the site is hosted on a domain "domain.tld" and i tend to use something@domain.tld as redirect, which may be redirected or filtered. I agree about the google part, although google mail is NOT my chosen provider any more :-)
- jefftk 5y agoI have my regular email address on my blog, and I've had posts on HN and Reddit many times without getting spammed.
- AlchemistCamp 5y agoMy email address is on my site and YT channel and I don't have that problem.
