I am getting a bit nervous. Russia is carrying an unconventional war. And despite their economy supposedly tanking, russia is neither backing out nor is it toning down its threats to nato countries. Their propaganda tv still shows plans for invading further countries and their president is still forging ahead with the plan of pushing the west further…west. Their propaganda machine is still up and running while their “friends” China, India, Iran and others are still on their side. There doesn't appear to be any threat to putin from the inside and his popular support seems to be going up. All it took to make nato stop squeaking was the threat of nuclear readiness. Countries in europe are utterly unprepared for a conflict - its not just germany basically lacking an army, but the eastern flank is undefended without the uk, the us or france stepping in. My trust in the long term outlook of this is negative. We are one election in the us going wrong away from a new soviet union. I have zero trust in western europe helping defend east europe as per treaties. Moving trucks and troops around is great for posturing but i see no voice to look up to. Not a single confidence booster - other than the us and the uk for now. And its not because we are no stepping in or not enforcing a no fly zone, but simply because we have no leadership. I hope somewhere deep in the pits of the pentagon, GCHQ and the balard brilliant minds are working on ways to de nuke russia or else we are up for a rough century. This wont stop here because putin is armed with an ideology and the machinery around him are readying for total war.

I’d like to think this is fake or that the ex colonel mentioned in the article is just one of the many crazies, but it’s on national tv and that makes it worrying. And while not a direct threat to occupy countries, just today, putin said something like: “the wests political and economic dominance ends”, and rt posted this in the propaganda: “The Western elites, according to Putin, have turned their countries into an “empire of lies,” but Russia will keep on presenting its own position to the whole world, no matter what.” Another, the chief of the svr (spy agency), said: https://www.tbsnews.net/world/russian-spy-chief-warns-countrys-fate-be-decided-coming-days-385994?amp https://www.tbsnews.net/world/russian-spy-chief-warns-countr... “The fate of Russia is being decided, its future place in the world," Naryshkin said.” and “"In such matters, Russia has never retreated and will not retreat, because otherwise it will cease to be Russia".” So while they might not attack the baltics or poland and romania tomorrow they most definitely are hell bent on expanding russia’s influence. Now they are telling russians that its a matter of “sovereignty”. It’s only a question of time i believe until they push west.

      If any of this gives you anxiety please remember that i am just a random person on the internet and not an expert. I am expressing a personal feeling not backed by data. However i do worry we are a bit lax in regards to propaganda and i worry of erosion from within. On the plus side, there is simply no mathematical calculation that could lead to russia wining against the west - east eu nato members included - if there is political will and unity. We’d overwhelm the russian army. The west has nukes as well and unless we drop hundreds of nukes a nuclear winter and total life annihilation is highly unlikely. Anyway just personal thoughts, probably even violating the community’s comment guidelines, but happy to be corrected by those more knowledgeable.
