I remember watching a documentary about the San people in southern Africa. There is a plant hoodia gordonii that grows in the arid countryside that is sought after. It can be used as an appetite suppressant but it isn't based on stimulants like ephedra. Of course anything fad or diet related means people go nuts over it and dig them all up.
- grecy 5y agoI visited the San people in Namibia and it was one of the most fascinating and moving experiences of my life.
