Of Course We’re Living in a Simulation
- spacedcowboy 5y agoWell, it might explain why there's a fundamental speed limit of c in the universe that we know. It's just MAX_INT... Then there's the whole quantum nature of reality - well ok, so SIZE_MIN is a building block 1 fermi-length in dimension. And the whole wave/particle duality of light, and the energy equivalence of mass... Actually, if you think about it, if we are a simulation, then we're not even a very good one - all the above corner-cutting smacks more of a high-school science-fair project than the ultimate simulation in a government lab. We're the "good enough to get the grade" simulation :) Let's hope... o The time-scale for whatever higher-dimension has sufficient energy to devote to simulating our reality is so far in advance of ours, that the science-fair isn't going to end soon. o We're not the "teaching simulation" where wildcards like electing Trump as a president of the most powerful nation on "Earth" are thrown in to see how the simulation copes. Or, you know, global thermonuclear war... Ah, it's probably fine. We're probably not a simulation, and it definitely won't end right no
