I don't know whether there is such a lobby, but if there is, they fall victim to the same mistake as many other proponents of permanent DST: society is highly synchronized with the movement of the sun. Permanent DST means that timetables are going to be adjusted over time to compensate for it and no one is getting out of work earlier before sunset.
- qubitcoder 5y agoI think you might have this backwards.
- stjohnswarts 5y agolol what? This gives you an extra hour to enjoy sunlight in the afternoon. Do you think employers are going to move from 8-5 to 10-7 just so you won't be able to enjoy a bit of sunlight?
- captainmuon 5y agoThis is what happens in places with extreme differences between clock time and solar time, for example west China. Schools, work shifts, shop opening hours move over time to fit im the light window.
- yosito 5y agoAnd this is why I wake up at 4:30am during the summer in Hungary.
- _ph_ 5y agoNo, they wouldn't shift the work times to prevent you from enjoying a bit of sunlight. They would shift the work times if people have problems getting awake for work in the morning or are late as they have to bring their children to school, which is probably going to be later than before.
