Once again this proves Google is NOT a customer focused company. These price increases are driven by accounting and are short term calculations. As someone who's used AWS for most of my professional career, I've only ever seen prices being reduced to be more competitive rather than increased to 'align' with offerings of other vendors. Newer generations of compute and storage are often cheaper and faster than previous generations which shows they are able to invest in technology to make things cheaper for the customer and lower cost for them to maintain which is impressive.
