I can't tell from the article: is Tinder limiting to violent crimes or can you see a person's whole record? Also is it all arrests or just convictions? If it's anything more than violent convictions then this is obviously bad. Strictly violent convictions is tougher bc on one hand it might improve safety and on the other hand it's adding a flawed barrier of participation to what is increasingly becoming the only way to date.
- voakbasda 5y agoWhen I went through a divorce, my ex lied to the police and attempted to have me arrested several times. Those records were then used against me in civil court, even though I was never charged or arrested. Consequently, I will never take a background check at face value without first asking a lot of questions, because liars and bullies can easily ruin your life. Our system of law coerces innocent people into pleading guilty, so many supposed “criminals” are, in actuality, victims of systemic government brutality.
