  No, he doesn't. He's single. His ex-friends have their wives forever. (But they don't, because estrangement, divorce, and death.)

    I've made a mistake, I apologise! I read what the poster said as him saying that he lost his friends to marriage and family life. I obviously did NOT read the bit where he said he chose to remain single. I actually interpreted the first part as him saying that he had got married etc. Mea culpa - apologies again.
