U.S. eyes Russian Reliance on unsophisticated heavy-weaponry in Ukraine

- simonblack 5y agoIn WW2, Germany had the most sophisticated technologically advanced weaponry. However, that also meant those weapons were hard to make, and were very expensive. Consequently, the Germans didn't have many of those 'Wonder Weapons'. On the other hand, both the Soviets and the Americans were able to make overwhelming quantities of 'good enough' weapons that were able to swamp the Germans in all the later battles of WW2. As Stalin is famously reputed to have said: "Quantity has a quality all of its own." The US is making the same mistake the Germans did: putting too much emphasis on very expensive, fragile, technologically advanced weaponry. (Sometimes denigrated as being 'Hangar Queens')
