So I hired a new developer for my team earlier this week
She already had the job because she came highly recommended from a trusted friend of mine, but she didn't know that. Here's how the interview went down:
Me: I see on your resume that you've achieved Grand Master level in Microsoft Solitaire Collection.
Her: Yes.
Me: Well, we won't waste any more time then. Welcome to the team.
Does anyone else have similar or interesting developer hiring experiences?
- jstx1 5y agoGreat for her, not so great for the people you've rejected after a technical test or some more rigorous interview process.
- car_analogy 5y agoReputation from previous employment, conveyed by a trusted friend, is much more rigorous than any interview.
- segmondy 5y agonepotism for the win.
- car_analogy 5y agoIsn't this just reputation and word of mouth? Far more reliable than an interview.
