What I understood from the parent's comment is not that they were equating curating a website and slavery, but more so equating the tactics used. There was more than likely a better example to be used so it couldn't be cherry picked, but their point still makes a lot of sense to me regardless. Full disclosure. I grew up in the days when the internet was the wild west and absolutely loved it, so I may be a bit biased :)
