This is a 2022 blog post from one of the founders of Chowhoud, which recently down. He is reminiscing, so after a long written introduction there is a repost of a 2007 interview. The interesting part is about Chowhoud and community forums.
I do not know why some HN moderator decided to edit the title to say year 2007
- dang 5y agoI changed it because otherwise it looks like the interview is recent. I had to inspect the article rather closely to figure out that it was in fact from 2007. I realize the intro isn't from 2007 but the intro seems like the less important part of the article, no? for example the title is all about the interview.
- carride 5y agoI only read the first part because of the timely insight from the author in regards to a 25 year old online community shutting down. I missed the news about Chowhound this week, and always avoided that site anyway. Now finding the founders 2022 postings interesting.
- dang 5y agoGotcha. Hmm, it's really a borderline case where you can argue for either outcome, but can't do both.
- Wowfunhappy 5y agoFwiw, I’m going to also vote that this shouldn’t have a year. They state quite clearly that the interview is from 2007 when it’s introduced.
