There are plenty of discussions of stolen files originating from the American government (and others!) on Hacker News all the time. Wikileaks, NSA dumps etc.

Why is it suddenly a bad thing when it's Russian documents?

- beeboop 5y agoWikileaks publishes everything that is material and verifiable. To claim otherwise is ridiculous - show me something that was material and verifiable, was denied publication by Wikileaks, and was later published somewhere else reputable. It would be pointless for Wikileaks to deny something because it's not like they have a monopoly on publishing.
