Azure pulls in front of AWS in public cloud adoption
- hughrr 5y agoTo quote the comments from the article: Like watching Gangrene Spread. That is exactly the same experience I have of Azure.
- Otek 5y agoCare to share more why? I've only used AWS but upper management in my company is pro-Windows and pro-Microsoft. They might make the switch just for the sake of it.
- hughrr 5y agoSupport is absolutely the worst, the Azure CLI is buggy as hell and some of the services are buggity as hell. I experienced that hell just trying to get something out of Azure onto AWS.
- tragictrash 5y agoDon't forget about all the low effort extremely severe vulns that keep popping up.
- zaptheimpaler 5y agoGoogle cloud is best cloud. Big cloud is infested with enterprise customers doing weird enterprise shit. Not built for devs anymore. Oracle is handing out free ARM instances with like 12 cores and 24GB RAM so it's pretty good too.
- mgdev 5y agoWhere do you think most devs work? Also, +1 to Oracle! (disclaimer: former OCI dev)

- srvmshr 5y agoI am an independent developer at present. I started with AWS, and was using Azure ML extensively in my previous company. I moved to GCP and never looked back. GCP feels like a polished offering which even a single person can work his way through. Thought has gone into the tooling and it shows in their API & pipeline quality.
- Spunkie 5y ago12 core 24gb for free you say, free for how long? Got a link to more details on getting some of those?
- zaptheimpaler 5y agoForever according to their webpage - [https://www.oracle.com/cloud/free/#always-free https://www.oracle.com/cloud/free/#always-free], maybe it will change. I just signed up and created the instance, nothing special.
