I respectfully disagree. Regular donation prompts bring in peanuts. If there was a thriving economy for end-user open-source software then we could blame them, but it's just not how it is right now.
- UncleSlacky 5y agoI have no problem with encouraging donations. My objection was to the language they used initially, e.g. from the article I linked: "We want users to understand that they’re pretty much cheating the system when they choose not to pay for software."
