This project looks quite well done. Gists are pften useful for various tasks, such as sharing small scripts, and self-hosting it for privacy/ security reasons sounds like a good idea. Fyi, Gitlab CE/EE have "Snippets" alias gists with access control. They are quite handy and can be bound to project/ group and individual level as well as only being shared with specific users.
