I can't blame people for reacting to the tax codes to minimize what they owe. But I'm conflicted by situations like when Elon Musk makes a lot of money from stock appreciation in a largely-California business, then moves to a lower-tax state to cash out. It's obviously not illegal and probably not immoral, but I'd say it's selfish.
