It's not a gated community. It is to keep cars out, and allow people to use more space in their city. If anything I think having tons of space wasted for cars is bringing the suburb to the city. You get much more bustle with people than you do with cars, and much better vibes.
- ookblah 5y agoi mean to each their own, it's to keep "non-residents" out as well. some nicer places have guards that actively look for that. and by "bustle" i mean i can walk out of my apartment 50 ft and visit whatever shops i want on the corner or what not, cars and all. for these super-blocks you have to still walk outside of the insulated area to reach anything and during that time it is def not a city vibe. i'm speaking specifically to seoul and what i imagine this looks like.
