That's one option. Another option is that Russia would have swallowed the Baltics like they did to Belarussia and are currently trying to do to Ukraine. In which case the world would not be more peaceful. We would have the exact same problems as before, just with a larger Russia. If Russia wants peace, perhaps it should start by allowing peaceful protests inside its own borders.
