Because government, whether federal or state, never misses an opportunity for wasteful spending.

- munk-a 5y agoThat's a really great argument for never subsidizing renewable energy or investing in electric cars or, you know, the wheel. Research is never the optimal strategy in the short term but it pays off in the long term. Every once in a while we get a lemon, but it's the cost of doing science.
