I red the document, it says a lot of things that I think would be pretty difficult to make up (not impossible, though).
- evgen 5y agoFWIW it has at least passed a sniff-test from Bellingcat, which is probably as close as us normal mortals will ever come to being able to vet a doc like this. If Bellingcat FSB sources suggest this was 'probably written by a colleague' then it at least moves from /r/warcollege fanfic and into the realm of potentially legit.
- raducu 5y agoAnd the purpose of the "leak" is? A KGB guy just set out to write a rand that demoralizes the russians and gives hope to the ukrainians? I'm all on the side of the ukrainians, but I'm 99% sure the document is not real.
- hackeraccount 5y ago"Make peace, you fools!" German field marshal Gerd von Rundstedt July 1944 That's why a KGB guy might write something like this - the intent wouldn't be to demoralize russians - it'd be to save Russia. It still might be propaganda/disinformation but I wouldn't reject it out of hand.
