The strangest thing I took away from this was the singer James Blunt having an extremely minor hand (or lack of a gun) in preventing escalation towards WW3

    I think you overestimate of what "we" can do. The people who can deescalate the situation in a snap are the ones close to Putin.

      By we I meant anyone who has the power. Sadly it's mostly Putin's circle indeed and it leaves very little room for optimism. What I see as a possible way is to keep informing people of Russia about the reality of the situation, but even that is really hard to pull off.

      The Chinese could stop it. Otherwise we have to hope the Russian people yearn for freedom over tyranny and take Putin out themselves. I'm open to them integrating with the west, but there's definite repreparations due to Ukraine after this. This is a no-win situation for Russia for sure, I expect them to start using nukes at some point. If we had a way to stop warheads, I'd say NATO goes in and finishes this. I also expect in the end, Russia to shrink further in size, losing Chechnya and other regions. It's sad, Russia's future after the fall of the Berlin Wall was always with the west. They're taking the long route to what I think is inevitable. The Russian people need to stand up sooner than later though. We can't do it for them.

I'm not "people" and nowhere in my message was I "chanting for war", Putin has imposed war on the west and the crime of invading Ukraine and massacring its civilians isn't the last of the Kremlin's misdeeds, so better prepare yourself for further escalation. A generation of Ukrainians was already sent to fight and die for their country's freedom, they won't be the last. this is my original message: > War is upon you whether you like it or not. Putin threatened NATO with nukes if they didn't let him invade Ukraine, and NATO are arming the Ukrainians in retaliation. There is no de-escalating this conflict. Prepare yourself. Don't tell me to shut up, nobody is going to shut me up when faced with Moscow's infamy. Go tell the Russians to calm down yourself.
