My favorite remnants of old Mac OS X are both Finder features enabled by the `defaults` command. One is slow motion mode. I love to minimize things to the Dock (which is best placed on the right of the screen). The other is single-window mode. You turn this on and switching apps is just a matter of clicking their dock icons. It’s not 100% perfect but it’s also idea for someone with limited trackpad skill.
