Largest shock wave in universe 60 times larger than Milky Way
- ZYinMD 5y agoIt's amazing how omitting an "is" word from the original title can turn a statement into a clickbait.
- mrkstu 5y agoI'm probably missing something obvious, but in what way is the actual shock wave generated? How is something as large as a galactic cluster coherent enough in any way other than gravitational attraction enough to generate a cluster wide shock wave? Is it just the gas clouds colliding at extreme speeds as the clusters come in at each other at 'relatively' high speeds?
- troyvit 5y agoYeah same question. These are 2 galactic clusters "colliding." There's so much space between every object involved here... Where's the energy coming from?
