It's clear that at least Ukraine leadership -- US-backed Zelenskyy at the moment -- claims to want NATO membership -- he's publicly declaring it. And he and every serious person in the world knew that this outcome -- the destruction of Ukraine -- was a probability, not just a possibility. So, Ukraine didn't necessarily want NATO membership, but the US certainly did. Zelenskyy had a choice -- save his country, or try to save his leadership of Ukraine -- we now know how he chose. Whether organized human life on earth survives to see 2023 is looking less likely by the day. The US will not tolerate any limits on our freedom to act unilaterally in our own best interests -- Ukraine is buying the farm to help us achieve this goal. The US/JFK threatened to end the world when the US put nukes in Turkey, and USSR returned the favor by putting nukes in Cuba. The Western media is going all pikachu-face now.
