It’s worth saying that there are great quality prosumer compact cameras, but the price point is much higher for this (>$600) than the old school cheap $100 point and shoot used to be. It’s the bottom end of the market that’s been completely made obsolete, and as the quality gap shrinks there are also less people that want to carry / spend money on two devices.
