Samsung doesn’t have real optical zoom. Their system works by using a separate 1x, 3x, and 10x zoom camera and software interpolation for in-between levels. The 10x zoom camera has the most interesting optics because its lens stack is too long to fit in the phone, so instead it’s a “periscope” camera in which the lenses are sideways and light hits them through a prism, then goes through another prism to hit the sensor.
