It's possible to self insure for auto insurance. It's just that the vast majority of us can't afford to do it.
Also, the minimum auto insurance required is liability, which does nothing to help you repair your vehicle in the case of an accident you cause. It's to cover damages you cause to others.
- toomuchtodo 5y agoMost people cannot afford to self insure for retirement, and living in poverty is a burden on the social fabric, “damage you cause to others” in your own words.
