Willingly to War – Public Response to the Outbreak of First World War
- simonblack 5y agoGenerally, when the generation with personal experience of war dies off, and nobody living has any idea of how bad total war can be, we have another World War. We're due for another one right now. The last of the WW2 guys have died. And everybody now living thinks that "War is the Greatest Adventure". Like the guys in 1914 did. We lost about 20 million dead in WW1, about 60 million dead in WW2, I estimate that we'll lose about 200 million dead in WW3 (or whatever we end up calling it). That means wounded, maimed and dead will be about 1 billion casualties.
