Maybe not in a good way, but it does seem like the western-based sanctions are enough to force Putin to do negotiations.
A stale mate would be that western sanctions are not enough, which is the worst case scenario.
- ralfn 5y agoEurope will not reduce sanctions until Putin is in the Hague on trial and Russian forces have left Ukraine. And even then Europe will spend and spend on miltary until we can take the nukes away from Russia by force. We won't be save until that day. So that's the end goal.
- sharken 5y agoAm 100% onboard with this strategy, even though it's important to keep in mind that a solution has to be one that Putin can accept. Total neutrality for Ukraine seems to be the best he can hope for.
