Here is the petition itself, it was signed by some 33.493 persons, but on the 4/3 they stopped receiving signatures, in light of the new drakonian russian laws...
You can get up to 15 years of prison for disseminating 'fake news on russian troups', and Putin signed this into law on the 4/3 https://meduza.io/news/2022/03/04/putin-podpisal-zakon-o-nakazanii-za-feyki-o-deystviyah-rossiyskih-voennyh https://meduza.io/news/2022/03/04/putin-podpisal-zakon-o-nak...
- Klaster_1 5y agoEven worse, calls to stop the war or for more sanctions against Russia are now punishable too, retrospectively. As someone who signed the petition in question, I am very concerned about my safety.
- xrd 5y agoI keep reading and reading your comment and cannot shake the sadness. If you have any requests for me to do to help, I will take them. I'm reading the news and unsure what to do to stop this madness.
- Klaster_1 5y agoIf anyone needs a frontend developer with 9 years of experience in Angular, howl at my email in the profile. Assisted relocation to EU preferred. But first I have to secure my butt.
- tablespoon 5y agoAre you able to leave? I've heard on the grapevine couple of the Russian offshore contractors that work for my employer are trying to get to Georgia and I think one's headed to Armenia.
- m3nu 5y agoFriend of mine left for Kyrgyzstan this morning. Together with his Ukrainian girlfriend. When the plane took off everyone onboard was clapping. Another acquaintance flew his Russian UX designer and family to Dubai this week. At the same time you have Putin defenders who will repeat whatever they hear on state TV. Even during personal conversations.
- Klaster_1 5y agoYes, for now. Georgia and Armenia are popular destinations at the moment, you can go there without a visa, stay for quite a while and even open a company relatively fast.
- MichaelMoser123 5y agoStill thanks for signing it, you are a very brave person, my respect. On a practical note: I think that in Germany you could get political asylum. The constitution of the FRG mentions this as a basic right: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asylum_in_Germany https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asylum_in_Germany Very sad times, very depressing. Wishing you all the best... This song by Shevchuk comes to mind: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKwqfNn9Ry8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKwqfNn9Ry8
- throwaway290 5y agoNow literally anyone on that list has solid grounds to apply for asylum anywhere in developed world. Threat of prosecution.
