Aside from whether that’s happening here, there’s an argument to be made that an equivalent of common carrier laws make sense for the largest platforms. With the centralisation of attention onto those platforms, deplatforming effectively lets them act as a law unto themselves, and I think there’s a fair argument that in exchange for their outsized impact on society, those platforms have obligations to it as well. (I don’t necessarily think it’d be the best idea for the most part though.)
