I never liked the idea of "X supports Y so I must boycott them". If you don't like NFTs then don't buy them. It shouldn't factor into your decision on whether or not to use WordPress.
I know I'm a weirdo but I just don't get the hand-wringing over stuff like this.
- smt88 5y agoThe idea is to starve the thing you don't like of money and to vote with your feet. If you hate NFTs and enough people agree with you and all of you boycott WordPress, they'll drop NFTs. That's the point. It's both an ethical exercise and a type of activism. Either way, you are free to dislike boycotts but most people think they're useful and libertarians keep telling us that they're an alternative to regulations.
