I had a C64. Given my limited resources, it was better for me because I was able to afford it vs the Amiga. But it was way less functional than the Amiga. First you need a point of comparison to be able to determine which was best. As far as programming, the C64 wasn't really any easier to program. To get the most, think speed, of the C64 you had to use assembler but you could use C on the Amiga and have some great programs.
