Just so we're clear: Until proven otherwise, Putin will be the last person to sit in his particular "chair" in Kremlin/Moscow. Their government is a dictatorship without a clearly defined process of succession. Putin == Russian government == Putin. Edit - Further, his "successor" might have his exact title, but still not quite have the same powers and sway as Putin. My point is their government is something distinctly different in its own right.
