I have worked in housing units filled with mentally ill inmates and as one might imagine it's not a therapeutic environment (though at least they are somewhat shielded from predation by the general population).
- s1artibartfast 5y agoYes, This is why we need prison reform to improve rehabilitation. I don't see how this parallel judicial system of "care courts" will be able to do anything that the existing judicial courts cant. Either approach will require rehabilitation centers that work, and the existing courts could send someone there just as easily as this new court.
