- Mikeb85 5y agoThat was 60 years ago... Also still not an invasion but yes, was shitty of the US. I'm not pro-US by any stretch, but I'm in support of anything they do to help Ukraine, where civilians are being directly targeted... We can talk about failed US policy when Russia isn't bombing apartment blocks and nuclear power plants... Or even their lack of an attempt to stop this war when they apparently knew it was coming...
- drekk 5y agoThere were three airstrikes this week. Two of which were supported by the US (Somalia & Yemen). The US no longer provides total deaths counts but simply whether or not civilians died. They don't explain how they determine whether an individual is civilian. In August 29th last year, they killed 10 civilians in Kabul. Just off the top of my head. You say you're not pro-US but it seems like you're trotting out the usual defenses for US foreign policy. Which is really just Raytheon policy. I'd love to see the US, Russia, NATO, etc. stop killing civilians. Really shouldn't be controversial, but I guess you could at the very least tell the victims of the families when is the "right time" to get justice. Or is the issue that people in the Middle East are more deserving of war and strife than a country of blonde hair and blue eyed fair-skinned Europeans?
