- yardie 5y agoMost of the retention issues is about retirement. The generation of Boomers are retiring or retiring early. Many civil jobs you can retire at age 55 or 20 years of service. So you have a very large generation of boomers hitting retirement age and a much smaller subsequent generations to fill those open positions.
