Ask HN: How to create a proxy to a blocked site?

2 points by dennisy 5y ago

Today Russia has blocked access to sites such as the BBC which are reporting on the true situation in Ukraine. I would like to create a service which will allow people in Russia to access global news for a wide opinion on the situation. The implementation must allow the accessing of domain which would fetch the blocked sites. This must work for non technical users without a VPN or Tor browser.

Amazing, this is what I was looking for! What this is missing is some ability to rewrite the HTML, to allow for clicking on new links! Any idea?

You can write a script to do that in some programming language like Python or Node to do just that.
